The St. Andrew Christmas Novena is named such because it begins on St. Andrew's day, and ends on Christmas Eve. The following prayer is said fifteen times daily. Using your rosary beads helps count out the prayers. Simply start with the bead right next to the crucifix and use the beads all the way through the first decade to count out the fifteen repetitions. One should always direct their mind toward He Whom the prayer addresses. The subject of the prayer is the moment in which Jesus Christ was born in the stable at Bethlehem, so the minds eye should picture this sweat and humble scene, the poverty Our Blessed Lord, the Virgin Mary and St. Joseph, and the indescribable love of God who would become like us in all things but sin in order to work our redemption.
Pray this prayer fifteen times:
Hail and blessed be the hour and moment in which the Son of God was born of the most pure Virgin Mary, at midnight, in Bethlehem, in piercing cold. In that hour, vouchsafe, O my God! to hear my prayer and grant my desires, [you may add a special intention here] through the merits of Our Saviour Jesus Christ, and of His Blessed Mother. Amen.
